Journalism Contributions

Bylines - The Times

I undertook a week of work experience at The Times office in London Bridge in mid-September. In my time here, the Russell Brand story had just broken and Murdoch resigned.I achieved three bylines, both digitally and in print; but worked in total on five pieces including one I pitched myself.I also conducted interviews with an MP, campaigners, Director of External Affairs at BEAT, and headteachers affected by the RAAC scandal. I attended a meeting of The Times Health Commission where I heard interviews with the Director of NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence), ex-chief government advisors, members of the House of Lords, and more.

Student Papers - Roar News & King's Business Review

My positions in student newspapers have enabled me to gain a varied understanding of multimedia journalism. I am News Editor of the student paper and much of my output reflects this, but I have also contributed across columns like Comment and Sport. I am published digitally and in print.

'The Politics of It All'
Organised, planned, and co-hosted my own podcast, discussing news which Ben and I feel is of importance but otherwise falling under the radar. Every week we meet to debrief over three political topics. The podcast is aimed at people who want to stay up-to-date with the news and be engaged in debate, but who do not have much - if any - prior experience with politics.

Invited to guest-speak on 'Manestream Media', Roar's political interview podcast, due to my specialism on Whitehall and UK politics, and as Roar's only female reporter on this topic at the time.

Invited to guest-speak on 'Roar News Round-Up', a podcast summarising the most important or pressing articles of the week before.
